ANOTHER BEDTIME STORY (Little Dickie Series #14)Dad, I saw something inspiring in the newspaper today.Really? What was it? A woman recently accused a famous basketball coach of having an affair with her six years ago, while he was married with a family. His response was to admit to his wrongful actions and take responsibility for it. At a news conference he said, “When you have a problem, if you tell the truth, your problem becomes part of your past. If you lie, it becomes part of your future.” The university president was then quoted as saying, “As we try to teach our students, when you make a mistake, you admit it and right it as best you can. Coach has done that today.” Well done to him. That's a great lesson. And what a contrast to Little Dickie. Here is a guy running a “church” that has a goal of making people more ethical. Key to its doctrine is the need to confess and take responsibility for all of your moral transgressions. I think we are witnessing one of the most sinister and ironic cons of all time... This guy grabbed complete control of the “church” and is using its personnel and financial resources to falsely glorify himself and prevent his transgressions from being discovered. Unfortunately for Little Dickie, even well-protected lies are destined to become part of his future. It sure must be stressful carrying such a load into the future. The more he tries to cover it up the bigger it gets and the harder he has to work to cover it up. When the lie finally implodes, it will be another great lesson for all. Good night, son. |

I love the Little Dickie stories. I miss them.
There are a lot of kids just like me who are waiting to hear more about Little Dickie. What will Dickie do next? Will Dickie get caught being bad, and get into trouble? Will he ever wise up?
Please, Mr. Peacock, give us some more Little Dickie stories for Christmas!
Love
